Greetings ~

I have been building models for well over 60-years. I have a bunch of kits that are in storage waiting for their day of assembly. This is one of them.
This is the 1963 Chevy II Nova station wagon. It's the AMT kit number 1202/12 and is in 1/25th scale. AMT released the kit back in the '60s but this is the reissue.
Once opened, it's obvious that there's not a lot to it. It's a pretty good rendering of the original kit in the respect that it does not have an engine, just a plate that looks like the engine bottom. I have no idea why the car comes with an opening hood.
I remember back in the 1950s and '60s that the Coca Cola Bottling Company had small cars such as these station wagons that delivered their products around town to the smaller Mom & Pop corner grocery stores. Possibly to free up the big delivery trucks for larger jobs. So I plan to build this car as a Coke delivery vehicle.
The kit comes with decals to make it a telephone repair car and other renderings. But I have a kit of a 1941 Plymouth coupe that comes with Coke decals and even four Coca Cola racks of bottles. I plan to build that car stock so I figured I would use the Coke stuff on this one instead. This car will have a two-tone paint job. The kit is molded in white and I will paint the top and hood red. The body will stay white so that the red Coke decals will stand out better.
Another thing that goes back to the 1960s model kits is that the front seat to this kit is already molded in place. The tires are rubber with thin whitewalls of the period. I bought this kit solely because it was a station wagon as those are sort of rare now a days. This kit retails for $24.99. I bought this one at Ollie's Discount store for only $12.99.
So, without further ado, let's get this thing goin'!
